There are two types of VBL membership, individual membership and band membership.
To become a member of the VBL all you need to do is fill out the appropriate membership form and pay the corresponding fee.
All players that compete at VBL competitions are required to be registered members of the VBL or another recognised band association within Australasia.

*All full-time students of a school, when participating as student members of the school, may participate in VBL contests without registering or paying any registration fee beyond that due by the school. Students so exempted from the registration requirement, however, are to register and pay a registration fee if they are to participate in a VBL contest (including solo/ensemble contest) as a nominated member of an Open or Junior Grade Band or as individual competitor in solo or ensemble contests.
