Victorian State Youth Brass Band

VSYBB LogoThe Victorian State Youth Brass Band (VSYBB) was established in 1978 as an initiative by the VBL to encourage, nurture and develop the skills of young musicians from around the state.  Made up of more than fifty members from around Victoria, the VSYBB is the only full-time youth brass band in Australia.

The VSYBB regularly performs around the state as well as participating at special events like the Moomba Parade and the Royal Melbourne Show where the band gets to show off its marching ability.

The band’s monthly rehearsals generally see attendance in excess of 35 people. Rehearsals are held on Sundays at the Moreland Band Room, 47 Cross St, Brunswick East,  from 9:30am – 4:00pm. Lunch is provided for $5 per person. Rehearsals are open to everyone and new member participation is always encouraged.
