Musical Director Vacancy
It is with much sadness that we announce that Colin Wellard, our current Musical Director is stepping down from his role at the end of May. In contrast, we are pleased to announce that Colin will be focusing on playing, and will join the band as a playing member instead!
We are inviting applications from people who have experience conducting bands or ensembles, preferably brass bands.
Marist Brass is a C Grade band based in Bendigo, which was formed in 1910. We have small but committed band of around 20 players, as well as a very active youth program with 15 talented juniors working to join the “senior” band.
We rehearse once a week, on a Tuesday evening, in our own band room in Bendigo. Our diary normally consists of about a dozen or more jobs spaced throughout the year, including concerts, competitions, community events and parades.
We are seeking a confident and energetic Musical Director who is preferably based in or around the Bendigo area. The ideal candidate would be free on Tuesday evenings throughout the year, and for some additional rehearsals in the lead up to competitions.
Remuneration will be negotiated with the committee prior to appointment based on experience.
