Moreland City Band (MCB) are looking for a reliable person or two to supervise two people who will be archiving the MCB library over the next six months. The project involves scanning the MCB library into PDF files which will be stored electronically. The supervisor will have to be on site to assist with questions, and to make sure the sheet music is properly scanned and recorded. The supervisor will have to be on site for 6 hours, at least one day a week. The project will take place three days a week at the MCB band hall, 16 Cross St, East Brunswick.
This is a voluntary position. The supervisor will have to have a current Police Check. MCB will reimburse application fees for a police check if the supervisor does not already have one.
It would suit somebody who is interested in the history of brass band music, and is interested in preserving a wonderful legacy.
Interested parties can contact Howard Norsetter at email@example.com or call him directly at 0412585314.
Every two years, there is a review of the Victorian Bands’ League Contest Bylaws. This is a great opportunity for bands to reflect on which rules are working and those rules they feel could be improved.
Bands are asked to send through any recommendations to the VBL Office by Monday 1st August 2016.
The suggestions will then be compiled into one document and circulated to all bands at the start of September. The proposals will be then be voted on at the October Delegates Meeting.
The current Contest Bylaws can be found here
