Stonnington City Brass invites you to their next concert BRASS WITH A BEAT!
This will be part of Stonnington Jazz 2013, which runs from 16th to 26th May, and presents a wide range of musicians in a variety of venues in the City of Stonnington.
Brass with a beat will feature two special guest artists.
Brian Abrahams was born in South Africa. He started out as a jazz drummer and singer, and progressed to accompany the likes of Sarah Vaughan. He moved to the UK in 2007 and gained recognition there. Locally he has performed at Dizzy’s Jazz Club with his own jazz band.
The other guest is vocalist Mark Stucas, who has performed in bands and done solo gigs around Melbourne. Mark returns to perform some great jazz numbers with Stonnington City Brass, after being very well-received the band’s jazz concert last year.
With music ranging from Ted Huggens’ popular ‘Fascinating Drums’, to a touch of Scott Joplin, Duke Ellington and Glenn Miller, this afternoon will offer something for everyone.
Round up your friends, enjoy a beverage at the bar, and enjoy a great afternoon’s entertainment.
