Musical Directors Position - Ararat City Band

Due to personal and family reasons, the MD of the Ararat City Band has had to stand down.

This has now opened an opportunity for an exciting new position.

Musical Directors Position:

The Ararat City Band has been competing at both State and National level as well as other more local competitions at a consistently high level.

Notable contest results in the last few years:

  • 2016 National D Grade champions,
  • 2017 State D Grade champions,
  • 2018 State C Grade champions.

These results are on top of top three placing in the last four state championships as well as numerous successes at the Mount Gambier Blue Lake competition.

We are a very social band in regional Victoria participating in numerous community activiites and performances.

The annual highlight of our year is organising and participating in our Grampians Brass Festival - see our Facebook page for feeback on that event from previous years participants.

We also have fostered excellent relationships with other nearby bands, and others in Geelong and Melbourne.

We have over twenty senior band players as well as a very healthy number of beginner players in our development program.

We are looking for a new MD who has the drive, knowledge and ability to continue our progress and help us achieve our potential.

You would be responsible for:

  • Overall musical direction of the band
  • Mentoring and tutoring players of varying experience and ability
  • Helping to maintain an energetic and fun atmosphere within the band
  • Teaching and guiding our development

Interested parties please apply in writing addressing

  • Experience
  • Qualifications
  • Goals you would wish for the band to achieve and a plan on how to achieve them
