Dear all,

At the most recent VBL Executive meeting, the rapidly changing Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation was discussed.  The Executive agreed that COVID-19 could have a potential impact on the activities of the VBL and community bands, and that a notice be sent out by the VBL to all affiliated bands and the same notice be published on the VBL website and Facebook page.  The VBL, like all agencies, organisations and individuals is following the advice published by Federal and State Health departments and will react accordingly should the situation change.

At this stage, all VBL events for 2020 are proceeding as planned.  We recognize that some bands and individuals will have concerns however we stress that the VBL has incorporated a potential impact of COVID-19 into our immediate foward planning.  The VBL is committed to protecting the health and safety of all bands, band members and audience at VBL events and will not hesitate to cancel any events if we deem the safety risk is too great.

For community bands, the VBL would recommend that they also folow the situation through Federal and State Health departments and also incorporate a potential impact of COVID-19 into their immediate forward planning.

Information on COVID-19, including methods of protection, can be found on the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services Coronavirus webpage: https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus/

The VBL will continue to monitor the situation as it changes and communicate any changes to our program of events if needed.
