Venues

Welcome to Ivanhoe!

The 2007 Nationals will be held in Ivanhoe, which lies less than 10km from the heart of Melbourne and 30 minutes from Melbourne airport.

Ivanhoe is one of twenty suburbs which form the City of Banyule, rich in heritage and heavily associated with the Heidelberg school of artists. Ivanhoe itself is a leafy suburb boasting eclectic shopping strips and fantastic coffee.

The Halls

Most competition will be held in two adjacent venues, The Centre Ivanhoe and Ivanhoe Girls Grammar.

The Centre Ivanhoe is one of Melbourne's finest examples of Art Deco architecture. Orginally built in 1937 it has recently been beautifully refurbished and provides several performance venues and spaces for other purposes spread over three levels.

The jewel of Ivanhoe Girls Grammar is its elegant performing arts centre, capable of accomodating an audience of 500 in comfortable raked seating.

More information on the venues can be found at the following sites:

The parade of bands will be held in Burgundy and Cape Streets in Ivanhoe. The route is approximately 250m in length.
