Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the Victorian Bands League Inc. will be held at the Box Hill Bandroom, Middleborough Road, Box Hill, on Sunday 13th April 2008, commencing at 10.00am. All welcome.

Advice on Working With Children Check

The scope of the Working with Children (WWC) legislation is now extending to clubs, associations or movements, including those of a cultural, recreational and sporting nature.

The VBL has organised for an officer of the Victorian Department of Justice to give a presentation on the WWC legislation and how it will affect our movement.

This presentation will be given immediately following the Annual General Meeting this coming Sunday. I strongly urge you to have a representative of your band at this important presentation. There will be opportunities for Q&A at the conclusion of the presentation, and handouts will be provided to all participants.

As this presentation occurs after the AGM (the AGM commences at 10.00am), all participants are invited to attend the AGM and also stay for lunch provided courtesy of the VBL.
