Vale George Manktelow

It is with sadness that we inform you of the passing of George Manktelow on Saturday 25th October 2008.

The funeral service will take place at 2:30pm on Friday 31st October at the Kings Funeral Chapel, Lyndon Grove,131 Surf Coast Highway, Grovedale (Geelong)

George was associated with quite a number of bands in Geelong and Melbourne. His family wish to extend an invitation to any players attending his funeral, to join with them and celebrate his love of music. They would appreciate if musicians attending the service could please take their instruments and lyres and participate in a band to play the hymn "St. Clement" (off the Wrights hymn sheet) this is to take place at the conclusion of the service.

Please allow plenty of time for parking and a quick tune up before the service starts.

In September, 2006, George provided some career notes for The Geelong Memorial Brass Band's 60th Anniversary concert.
